Speak & Spell is back! with 100+ new phrases :)

Launched by Texas Instruments in June 1978, this electronic educational toy became a pop-culture icon later on, as it kept appearing in the compositions of Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Röyksopp, Coldplay... just to name a few. Depeche Mode's 1981 debut album, Speak & Spell, is named after this device.
Speak & Spell was the device of choice to "phone home" (cit. E.T.), thus becoming an immortal image in the mind of anyone born in the '80s.

Speak & Spell deployed a single-chip voice synthesizer, the TMC0280. The speech synthesis data was stored on a pair of 128 Kbit PMOS ROMs - an impressive achievement for the time; it was named an IEEE Milestone in 2009.

In this Royalty Free Sound Library you will rediscover the most beloved robotic voice with the full original set of words, numbers and alphabet, plus plenty of new ready-to-use phrases going from surreal humour to AI's threats to humanity.
