“Found” is a collection of 50 sounds and loops I’ve lovingly recorded and processed over a few months. All of the drum one-shots stem from water droplets or other objects I’ve stumbled across in the wild, and all of the sample loops contain original field recordings. The idea here is that we can capture these fleeting moments that happen outside the studio, bedroom, or wherever we make our music, and insert them into our creations. I sought to take this soundtrack of my life to make my music more personal, and I hope you can too! ❤️ Dephrase
Gear used
• Rode iXY and built-in iPhone mics to record all of the foley and many of the samples that eventually turned into the drum sounds.
• Korg SV-1, Roland Alpha Juno, and Teenage Engineering OP-1 to create much of the harmonic content.
• Roland SP-404 and SP-404SX to process sounds. Favorite effects: 404SX vinyl sim for noise and 404 vinyl sim for drum compression.
• Ableton Live 10 and SoundToys plug-ins to process sounds and compile everything together. Favorite effects: Corpus and Drum Buss (Live) to create kick drums and Crystallizer (SoundToys) to add ethereal textures.
